In an attempt to produce tetraploid scallops, triploid and regular diploid scallops were spawned.

Unfortunately the triploids did not spawn but the wild broodstock produced a large amount of healthy eggs and sperm.

The 28 million embryos were placed in the larval tanks for two weeks until metamorphosis.
