Quahog in the midst of spawning

The second quahog spawn of the season yielded more than 24 million embryos.
The clams took their time.
On the spawning table since 8 am, some only started to release gametes around 4 pm.
In the end, 16 males and 12 females contributed to the next generation of Martha's Vineyard hatchery born hard clams.
