April 15, 2017. Shellfish Extravaganza!

This year our board of directors took the lead to organize our popular spring fundraiser and they did a tremendous job! Delicious chowder donated by Chef Josh Aronie at the Home Port was served as well as donated oysters from local growers and clams from Katama bay in Edgartown. Around $12,000 were raised to ensure healthy and plentiful shellfish populations on Martha's Vineyard. The Vineyard Haven Solar Hatchery was also renamed the Richard C Karney Solar Shellfish Hatchery in honor of our partially retired exiting director.
