October 7, 2016. Quahog rafts survival counts.

Gorgeous day to meet with the Edgartown shellfish department near Crab Creek and see how our quahogs have done this summer. They have been sheltered in floating sand boxes since July, filtering and growing away from the crabs, and are ready to be planted in Sengekontacket pond and Katama bay. This has a been a spectacular year for our quahog seed. They have grown and survived beautifully!
